The first attempt!

Ok, I've attempted something most people have or have used before... a desk.

I tried to pick something easy to model for a beginner and was mainly getting to grips with the push/pull tool and different shapes. So, here it is.

As you can see pretty basic, but it is early days. Took me about 20mins once I had worked out some of the basic functions. So thats that, next post should be something a little more detailed.

The Start

Hello everyone.

Hope you enjoy reading, this is my first blog. For those of you who don't know, sketchup is free design software by google so credit to them for this great program.

I've been messing around on design programs for a little while now and have decided to try out google sketchup. It really is one of the most fun design programs out there!

I've decided to create a blog so you can follow me as I learn and progress with it. So here's how it will work. I will try and post a screenshot of a design every few days to show you something I've been working on, I'll include a little description of what it is, how long it took etc..etc... Hopefully you will find it interesting and maybe even be able to give me some tips.

First design coming right up!
