Getting into it a bit more now. Been practicing floor plans and then extruding the walls up. This one is another I've dreamed up, again no dimensions used, done visually. It's a work in progress so I'll update it when I've done some more to it.
Stay Tuned.

Skyscrapers
Very quick and easy to do but looks really cool. Using basic shapes and the push pull tool, you can make skyscraper scenes fairly quickly. I may work on one building and try and make a more detailed skyscraper somewhere in the model.
2nd building attempt
I've tried to model another building, a sort of apartment. Not from dimensions or anything so it's not got accurate dimensions. It was just good to practice creating a floor plan and then extruding it. A few pieces of furniture from the Google components library but otherwise I did the rest. Anyway here it is:
As you can see, still fairly basic but a little better than the last building attempt I did.

Update
Ok, I've spent some more time practicing and have been getting the hang of it some more. This time I tried to model a more detailed desk setup, again no dimensions were used, all done visually. Enjoy

Keeping it simple
Heres another quick model I've done. It is a dining room chair, again no dimensions were used and I learnt some new things like putting small chamfers along edges and mixing default style settings to get different backgrounds and styles.
Nothing special but it was fun to make :)

Attempt at buildings
Ok, so I thought I'd have a shot at designing some buildings. I'm not using measurements or anything particularly technical yet, just something I dreamed up and did without dimensions. It's a swimming pool hut thing :)
So, there you have it. Still fairly basic but I'm getting used to slightly larger and more complicated models. Not sure what I'll model next, stay tuned and find out.

Second Try
Ok so I've had another attempt at using Google Sketchup. This time I have tried to model a staircase and arch I dreamed up.
I discovered some functions like the texture options and which worked well with the glass panels. It took about 20mins to make.
